Lower Venton Farm is an ideal base from which to explore Dartmoor. Within minutes of stepping out of the front door you can be on the open moor - you'll be in easy reach of some great walking routes with spectacular views and for all abilities.
We provide a small "Yellow Map" of the area to help you find your way around. You may also like to install the Komoot app on your smartphone, Komoot has a number of local walks of varying lengths - just search "Widecombe in the Moor" - some of these are included below.
Walking Around Widecombe
Widecombe is an ideal location from which to explore Dartmoor, and some of the best spots on the moor can be found nearby. Dartmoor National Park have produced a booklet about Widecombe's history and some of the local landmarks and suggesting local walks and places to visit to help you see some of the Dartmoor Story for yourself.
